JROTC Teams

                                                                                                             RIFLE TEAM         

The Rifle Marksmanship Program is a Program that teaches Cadets how to be disciplined, commited, responsible and being a member of a team. All Cadets are allowed to tryout for the team. They are given a Safety/ Range Class and a written exam that they must Pass. Once they pass the test they are allowed to tryout for the team.The team consists of 4 primary and 2 alternate shooters. They have competitive matches in Rifle Marksmanship against other JROTC Schools within the District as well as other JROTC programs in the country.

                                                                                                   ORIENTEERING TEAM

The Orienteering Program is a competitive form of land navigation in which each participant uses a map and compass to navigate between checkpoints. The goal is to locate as many checkpoints as possible in the shortest amount of time. Competitors must travel quickly from point-to-point ensuring they have located and correctly recorded all marker information. The points are located in obscure valleys, wooded areas, brush, and along trails. We have Orienteering Competitions in several state parks in North Texas which in run by the NTOA. JROTC Schools within the District as well as other JROTC programs in the country and civilans from the ages od 5 thru 80 may compete.

                                                                                                                 PT TEAM

The Physical Training (P.T.) team is just what it sounds like. It is made up of 4 of our battalion's most athletic cadets and they perform in various events such as push ups, curl ups, pull ups and a running event. The PT team is broken down into two categories, a male and a female team. It takes a lot of hard work and a lot of exercise to stay in top shape and defeat other schools. Each of our competition teams participate against other JROTC Schools within the District as well as other JROTC programs in the country.

                                                                                                            RAIDER TEAM

Raider is for those cadets who wish to challenge their physical endurance, mental strength, and their leadership.The team consists of 6 primary cadets (4 Male and 2 Female) and 2 alternate cadets (1 Male and 1 Female). All cadets who participate in Raider team will have a chance to strengthen their leadership, improve on their fitness, and participate in competitions against other school Raider teams. Raider is for people who want to put their fitness and endurance on the line, people who wish to challenge themselves. Each of our competition teams participate against other JROTC Schools within the District as well as other JROTC programs in the country.

                                                                                                           COLOR GUARD

The Color Guard is a 4-cadet team that consists of two rifle bearers and two flag bearers. It is usually divided into male, female, and co-ed teams, which participate in flag details for football games and other special occasions as well as drill competitions. During a competition the teams are given a list of commands to perform in sequential order within a specific drill area. They also participate in an inspection phase where their uniforms and basic cadet knowledge are evaluated. Each of our competition teams participate against other JROTC Schools within the District as well as other JROTC programs in the country.

                                                                                                         UNARMED DRILL

The Unarmed Drill team focuses on precision drill movements. These cadets perform a basic drill routine and then perform in the exhibition phase where the cadets create their own moves and steps and a inspection. Participation in the team requires dedication, focus and patience. The team consists of 10 or more cadets. Each of our competition teams participate against other JROTC Schools within the District as well as other JROTC programs in the country.

                                                                                                           ARMED DRILL

The Armed Drill Team performs various routines with 1903 Springfield rifles. The armed drill routines involve both basic and fancy (exhibition) movements and a inspection. Dedication and hard-work are a must to be on this team. It's not as easy as it looks! Each of our competition teams participate against other JROTC Schools within the District as well as other JROTC programs in the country.
