Overview

Mr. Rodney Dittmar

I am currently in my 28th year of teaching music, and my 25th in Seagoville and Dallas ISD.  I am blessed to have been the very first teacher of Modern Band and Guitar in Dallas ISD.  This is my 24th year to teach what we now call Modern Band.  I am also very proud to be our Fine Arts Department Head here at Seagoville High School.

I am also the Regional Program Ambassador for a non-profit called Music Will, (formerly Little Kids Rock), which provides instruments and training to Modern Band programs all over the country, including Dallas ISD and Seagoville High School.  This gives me the opportunity to help other teachers all around the district. 

In September 2020, I was awarded the rank of Master Teacher by the Texas Education Agency.

I love teaching and performing music, but my favorite thing is being a husband and father.
