ABOUT THIS GUIDE

This transition and employment guide is for you, the student in Texas public school, who may have received special education services due to a disability. It also provides helpful information for your parents. This guide has steps you and your parents can take to make sure you are able to find the right work or educational choices for you after high school. It also tells you where to get the services you will need after high school.

Texas Workforce Commission - Vocational Rehabilitation - Youth & Students

Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services serves youth and students with disabilities to help prepare for post-secondary education and employment opportunities.  Services are eligibility and need based.

Metrocare Services

Intellectual & Development Disabilities Services

IDD Services includes programs, services and supports to eligible children and adults in the community. These services are intended to provide individuals with intellectual disabilities the skills and supports needed to continue to live meaningful lives.

DART Paratransit

An origin to destination, curb-to-curb, public transportation services for people with disabilities who are unable to use DART's fixed buses or trains.

 

 

 

Achieve

Achieve is a non-profit organization serving more than 600 adults with severe intellectual, physical, and/or mental health disabilities annually from Dallas county and surrounding areas. We fulfill our mission through two primary programs: Community Employment Placement and Work Center/Vocational Training
