Dr. KAREN SCHOCK BIO

Dr. Karen Schock

I was born in Dallas, Texas attending schools in both the Dallas Independent School District and Richardson Independent School District.  I graduated in the top 1% from Lake Highlands High School and Magna Cum Laude from Texas Woman’s University, earning a Bachelor of General Studies in Business, Government and Sociology. After working in corporate finance for many years, I decided to pursue my passion for higher education. Through my journey in graduate school, I earned a Master of Science in Counseling, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce.  I have been very fortunate to work for DISD for the previous 8 years, with the last 6 years at Seagoville High School working with our PTECH program. In fact, I am proud to say I was one of the first teachers to welcome Cohort 1 into the PTECH program. My husband and I enjoy traveling all over the world. Most of my free time is spent with my husband and family enjoying our lake property in Tyler, TX.
