WELCOME LETTER

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the new school year!!!! I am so excited to have your child in my class! My name is Dr. Karen Schock and I’m looking forward to teaching U.S. History, U.S. Government and Sociology to 10th and 11th graders at Seagoville High School P-Tech. You can count on me to provide the students with a safe, enriching and fun learning experience.
I have been a part of the P-Tech program since it began 7 years ago. Prior to joining Seagoville High School, I taught World Cultures at Seagoville Middle School. I look forward to the opportunity, not only to teach my students personal and academic skills, but life skills as well.
My goal as an educator is to guide your child toward academic success by helping build critical thinking skills that will be utilized in adulthood and to ensure all students are college ready. I will do my part to inform you when your child isn't working at their potential and/or involvement in disruptive class behavior. I am dedicated to the well-being of your student and I need your cooperation in helping them reach their potential.
Your child’s success is very important to me and I want them to get the most out of my class. I expect your child to come to class with materials ready to learn. Please encourage your child to be consistent and responsible for a successful school year. Please feel free to contact me about any questions or concerns you may have. Queridos padres y guardianes,
Bienvenidos al nuevo año escolar!!!! ¡Estoy tan emocionada de tener a su hijo en mi clase! Mi nombre es Dra. Karen Schock y espero poder enseñar Historia de los EE. UU., Gobierno de los EE. UU. y Sociología a estudiantes de 10.° y 11.° grado en Seagoville High School P-Tech. Puede contar conmigo para brindarles a los estudiantes una experiencia de aprendizaje segura, enriquecedora y divertida.
He sido parte del programa P-Tech desde que comenzó hace 7 años. Antes de unirme a Seagoville High School, enseñé Culturas del Mundo en Seagoville Middle School. Espero con interés la oportunidad, no solo de enseñar a mis alumnos habilidades personales y académicas, sino también habilidades para la vida.
Mi objetivo como educador es guiar a su hijo hacia el éxito académico al ayudarlo a desarrollar habilidades de pensamiento crítico que se utilizarán en la edad adulta y garantizar que todos los estudiantes estén preparados para la universidad. Haré mi parte para informarle cuando su hijo no esté trabajando en su potencial y/o no se involucre en el comportamiento disruptivo de la clase. Estoy dedicado al bienestar de su estudiante y necesito su cooperación para ayudarlo a alcanzar su potencial.
El éxito de su hijo es muy importante para mí y quiero que aproveche al máximo mi clase. Espero que su hijo venga a clase con materiales listos para aprender.
